JUAN GUZMAN
Jill Guzman Realty, Inc. would not exist, if it were not for the nonstop arduous work, persistence and can do attitude of Juan Guzman. From the day the Jill Guzman Realty opened for business in 1988, Juan has battled the snow, the hail, the hottest of summer days, and many surgeries, but through it all, he has physically hand delivered from door to door, literally thousands and thousands of advertisements and brochures on the owners properties.
Married in 1981, in what was then The Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth on the eve of a major surgery for a benign brain tumor, with his beaming soulmate Jill by his side, the couple knew at that moment that anything in life and everything in life should be cherished. And would be cherished.
Juan had always been a chef and loved the kitchen, but after several surgeries, the doctor advised him that the heat of the ovens was not beneficial to his health. Jill was in her glory as a schoolteacher because her love and talents with children has always been her forte.
As time progressed the couple knew that they would have to design their fate. With three year old Marla Ann, their pride and joy, in their arms, they began to build Jill Guzman Realty, Inc. Jill would hold the Brokers position and Juan would be the Public Relations and Advertising Manager.
Humble and hardworking, Juan began to design and deliver by hand flyers and publications displaying the Guzman listings. Nineteen years later, in 2007, Juanito, as he has come to be known, is still that same humble, hardworking, fun loving, down to earth man who never misses a day of door to door delivery for this now well known company for which he beams with pride.
Says Jill, “Juan is the wind beneath my wings … he is my pillar of strength. He has been through 7 surgeries, and is a rosy cheeked symbol of health. He is probably the hardest working and most persistent person I know and he is the most dedicated husband and father.” “I am the Realtor,” says Jill, “but Juan is the backbone of our success.”
For enjoyment, Juan loves eating ice cream at Friendlys with his beautiful daughter Marla Ann, and he also enjoys grooming and recreation time with the family’s three canine members, Mr. Kerry, Miss Milagros and William Shakespeare.
As a volunteer for years in the local hospital, together with Jill and Marla Ann, he has learned that by giving to others, life’s blessings flourish.
Juan is looking forward to their daughter’s graduation in May from NYU where she is pursuing a career in medicine and science. What are your goals, Juan? Simple and clear, he answers, “To continue riding around in my yellow sign station wagon, with my Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, my flyers and my pride in my family and my company. I am still the same Juan who arrived in the USA with two dollars and a dream in my pocket.”
ROSA MARIA MARTINEZ
Rosa Maria Martinez is the first one that will greet you when you walk in or call Jill Guzman Realty, Inc. You can be sure that she will be behind you with a fresh cup of coffee.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Three Kings Day, January 6, Rosa moved to the United States when she was 3 years old. Proudly fluent in English and Spanish, Rosa is a graduate of Monroe Business Institute College in the Bronx, NY where she earned an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science.
In 1984 Rosa moved to Short Hills, NJ and has been a New Jersey resident ever since. Her prior Reception experience includes a Short Hills travel agency and the front desk of many medical centers and Hospitals. Says Rosa: “I love working at Jill Guzman Realty, Inc. experiencing the skills of customer service. My favorite part of my job is the joy of getting to love Juan and Jill’s dogs”. Rosa’s hobbies are cooking, especially Caribbean foods, traveling and learning ways of life all over the world. In her free time, Rosa enjoys scrapbooking and creating festive themes such as weddings, baby showers and other special occasions. Dancing the cha-cha and reading best sellers keep Rosa busy.
ROBIN SAHOYE
Robin Sahoye is a proud member of the Jill Guzman Realty family and a Rahway resident. Robin has been happily married for 29 years and she loves spending time with her 29 year old daughter, 3 year old grandson, 2 Poodles and miniature Doberman. Robin loves helping people and is involved with charity work with “NJ Cares”. Vacationing in Fort Lauderdale, her second home, is her way of relaxing. Robin says, “Working with Jill Guzman and the Real Estate family is a super wonderful experience and I enjoy it very much. I look forward to hopefully working with Jill for years and years to come. Believe me if you list your home with Jill Guzman Realty it will be advertised all over … I know, because I pay all the bills”.
OLGA CHICA
Say hello to Olga Chica, vice-president of the advertising department at Jill Guzman Realty, Inc. Born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, Olga arrived in the United States at the age of sixteen. Brilliant and enthusiastic, Olga was able to conquer the English language within a two year period. Her dream is to become a dental orthodontist and she is working towards that goal diligently. While going to school in the evenings, Olga works full time at Jill Guzman Realty, making sure that each and every home listed with the company receives extensive, detailed advertising, in three languages, throughout NJ and NY. Says Olga “Almost two years ago, Jill Guzman Realty opened its doors to me as part of the advertising department and it has been a life changing experience for me, as all of their company members are taking a very special place in my heart”.
“From Jill and Juanito to the puppies and all the staff members and Realtors, they completely make me feel like I’m family and in reality they are now a caring family for me!!!”
Olga’s hobbies include taking care of her active Cocker Spaniel “Jilly” (named after the Broker of the office), theater, walking around Manhattan and cooking.
